Map & directions
The original Coronado Hotel was designed by Preston Bradshaw and built in the 1920s to be used to celebrate the return of Charles Lindbergh, after he completed the first solo flight across the Atlantic The Coronado is long remembered by many from St. Louis as an elegant hotel where luminaries such as Barbara Stanwyck, Harry Truman and Mae West stayed. In the 1940’s and 1950’s many St. Louisans were married at this location. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Coronado was a Saint Louis University dormitory popular with the school’s law students. Today you can still enjoy the Coronado’s original features include intricate crown moldings, decorative ceilings, wood paneling, and a dance floor lit from below.
